"John Coe" Orca Limited Edition Art Print
"John Coe - The Lost Orca of the Hebrides" is a limited edition art print showing the iconic orca 'John Coe'. He and a younger bull 'Aquarius' are the last two of the functionally extinct ecotype of orca known as the west coast community in Scotland. With just two males remaining there is no hope for this unique pod which roam the Western Isles. Hidden within the body is a map of the Hebrides alongside other iconic species found in the diverse and special environment of the Sea of the Hebrides. I wanted to reflect not only the ecological significance but also the emotional connection between these animals and the local islands and to share their heart-breaking story.
This is a professionally printed Giclée print on Hahnemühle German etching fine art paper. A textured paper which emulates the look and feel of an original art work.

Each print is signed by hand and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The natural world inspires so much of my work and my aim is to share my passion for the ocean and wildlife with others. I consciously select my materials and packaging to ensure they have as little impact on our planet as possible.
This item is packaged in plastic free paper packaging all of which can be recycled in your household paper recycling collection, apart from tube end caps which can be re-used. I use paper fragile tape to mark larger prints, and glassine paper to protect your art work, in some cases I will reuse packaging from the print supplier.
